Result: TS Galaxy 1-1 Sekhukhune United

Date: 30 October 2022

Venue: Mbombela Stadium

The Rockets made three changes to the side that drew with Kaizer Chiefs, as Bernard Parker, Xola Mlambo and Macbeth Mahlangu were brought in.

Sekhukhune, in contrast, made wholesale changes after their narrow defeat against Chippa United, as only Daniel Cardoso, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Linda Mntambo and Vusimuzi Mncube remained in the line-up.

The game was open in the early stages, with attacks from both ends but there no clear cut chances created yet.

The hosts were eventually decisive shortly before the half-hour mark after Mlambo gave them the lead with a close-range finish from a rebound after goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata parried Parker's shot back into play.

Sekhukhune were fired up to respond and were awarded a penalty ten minutes before the interval after Siyabulela Shai was brought down in the box. Victor Letsoalo made no mistake from the spot-kick, as he pulled Babina Noko level with a low drive.

The game continued to flow from the interval and Bathusi Aubaas thought he had restored the lead for Galaxy early on in the second stanza after his dink over Nsabata in a one-on-one in the box but saw his effort cleared off the line by the recovering defender.

Sead Ramovic's charges were dangerous on transitions and Aubaas had a big chance to to make it 2-1 for the hosts on 64 minutes after an inviting cut-back by Lindokuhle Mbatha found his run unmarked in the box but he blazed his shot over the crossbar.

Kaitano Tembo turned to his bench for inspiration going forward in the last 16 minutes as Tashreeq Morris replaced Shai while a couple of minutes later Ramovic made changed the shape of his attack, as Orebotse Mongae replaced Tjakaritja Traore.

The game was there for the taking in the dying minutes and Nkanyiso Madonsela had a glorious chance at the death but was denied by goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi in a one-on-one as the sides shared the spoils.
