In anticipation of this week’s 1300th edition of Soccer Laduma, we preview some of the features included. The latest edition will be available at your nearest outlet on Wednesday, November 16th.
Khama Billiat Feature
The issue of Billiat’s performances since joining Kaizer Chiefs from Mamelodi Sundowns in 2018 is one of those inevitable topics, especially with his contract coming up for possible renewal in June next year. It’s no secret that while he was flying at the Chloorkop-based club, the jury is out on whether the Zimbabwean-born star has actually done enough to earn a new deal in Naturena. Players of Billiat’s kind will always be under scrutiny, not least because of the package he’s said to be on at the Soweto giants. In this Soccer Laduma feature, we put the situation under the magnifying glass… and also look at what the numbers say!
Olisa Ndah Interview
Ndah did not take time to settle into life at Orlando Pirates. He’s been a key figure since he joined last season and recently played an important role as the club lifted the MTN8, his first title in the PSL. With that trophy in the bag, Bucs are now looking at challenging for the league title, to dethrone Mamelodi Sundowns if you will. The Pirates fan-favourite will be very key in turning that ambition into reality. Soccer Laduma caught up with the Nigerian defender to talk about working with coach Jose Riveiro as he also reveals which country he will be supporting at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Nurkovic v Royal AM Siya Special
So much was expected of Nurkovic when he crossed over from Kaizer Chiefs to link up with joined ambitious Royal AM at the start of the season. A career-revival was on the cards, many believed, with injuries and a baffling loss of form having contributed to his decline at the Glamour Boys. Still, some believe he has it in him to replicate the feats of his first season in Mzansi, and signing for the KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit was enough validation. However, the dream has turned into something of a nightmare as the Serbian striker’s injury woes continue, leading to a premature parting of ways with the club. The split is now without drama and controversy, and now the two parties are set to face off before FIFA. Soccer Laduma unpacks it all…

Riaan Hanamub Interview
The Namibian international has been one of the most consistent and regular features in Usuthu’s team since joining them from Chippa United. The team may not be doing that well at present, but the fullback’s displays have surely not gone unnoticed, in a league where the quality of some of the foreigners has often come under question. In an interview with Soccer Laduma this week, the soft-spoken player speaks Joni about his smooth transition from the Chilli Boys to AmaZulu FC, losing coach Brandon Truter, working under coach Romain Folz, losing the final of the MTN8 to Orlando Pirates… and more.
Senegal World Cup Feature
Sadio Mane’s 2022 FIFA World Cup ambitions were put into severe doubt when the winger trudged off during Bayern Munich’s 6-1 victory against Werder Bremen. While it seemed for a moment that Senegal’s talisman might not be making his way to the global spectacle in Qatar, Aliou Cisse decided to include him in his squad regardless. Having missed his club side’s latest victory and with the tournament just days away, the seriousness of the 30-year-old’s injury looms over the camp of the Lions of Teranga. In this feature, Soccer Laduma tackles how much Mane’s potential absence could affect the African champions’ hopes.
Revolving Column
This week, we hear from Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies head coach Jerry Tshabalala as he reacts to his side’s failed defence of their CAF Women’s Champions League title, reflects on lessons learned and what the future holds as they try again next year.
Siyagobhoza
In this week’s edition of the popular Siyagobhoza section, there is news on the latest with Bradley Cross at Kaizer Chiefs, a KZN outfit possibly eyeing a Mamelodi Sundowns technical team member, intimate details of how Miguel Timm managed to finally sign on the dotted line for Orlando Pirates, and more…
