In anticipation of this week’s 1312th edition of Soccer Laduma, we preview some of the features included. The latest edition will be available at your nearest outlet on Wednesday, February 22nd.
Soweto Derby Preview
The second Soweto Derby of a crazy season is here! Both giants are fighting for a place in next season’s CAF Champions League. Orlando Pirates come into it in better form, but the form book is thrown out the window prior to this fixture. The two archrivals will have had ample time to prepare. As usual, there are plenty of key tactical points, enticing individual battles and pressure brewing on Arthur Zwane. Let’s hope that we get more excitement than in October when Jose Riveiro was scathing about the quality on display. This Soccer Laduma preview is, of course, a must-read!
Teboho Mokoena Interview
Over the years, some players have joined Mamelodi Sundowns and failed to live up to the expectations. Not Mokoena. The former SuperSport United midfielder’s game has improved since he linked up with the Chloorkop-based side, to such an extent that a lot of people believe he should be nominated for the Football of the Season award. If the Brazilians are to win the CAF Champions League this year, having all but secured the 2022/23 league title, then the 26-year-old will have been a big part of it. In his interview with Soccer Laduma this week, courtesy of PUMA, the star reveals what’s exactly improved in his game.
Tebza Interviews Makola!
The news that Mpho Makola had parted company with Cape Town City caught almost everyone napping, so to speak, as it had been predicted that he would be renewing his deal. The former Orlando Pirates man now sits clubless, pondering his next move, but is optimistic that he will find a team to play for, in the remainder of the current campaign. In the third offering of his “Legend and Friends” interviews, Teboho Moloi caught up with the player he coached at Bucs, as they talk about a range of interesting issues, including the 36-year-old’s advice to other players on maintaining their style.

Fadlu Davids Interview
Davids has endured a hectic last six months. From being a co-coach at Orlando Pirates, whom he left in June, to jetting out to Russia for a brief stint with Lokomotiv Moscow in September and shortly thereafter taking up the job at struggling Maritzburg United. What a daunting task, trying to save the club from relegation! In an interview with Soccer Laduma this week, the young tactician talks about coming up against the Buccaneers last Friday and what went wrong for his team, some of the measures he’s introducing to improve his charges, as well as issues advice to local coaches.
Arsenal Feature
With February now past the midway mark, the Gunners are two points clear at the top of the English Premier League table with just 15 games to go. There is strong optimism from their supporters that this season could be the end of their almost 20-year wait for the title, but the race remains wide open with both Manchester City and Manchester United also in the chase. The question now is: How would they define the success of their Mikel Arteta-led project, with or without the title? This Soccer Laduma feature analyses the significant steps made by Arsenal this season!
Revolving Column
This week, we hear from Marumo Gallants Technical Director Dylan Kerr as he talks about their incredible away victory over Saint Eloi Lupopo in the CAF Confederation Cup, why he would never have stabbed Dan Malesela in the back and how they plan to approach their congested fixture list.
Siyagobhoza
In this week’s edition of the popular Siyagobhoza section, there is news on an in-form DStv Premiership defender who is being watched with a keen eye by Orlando Pirates, what young goalkeeper Bontle Molefe’s future at Kaizer Chiefs depends on, the Mamelodi Sundown star the club is eager to hold onto, and more…
