The DStv Premiership took centre stage this past weekend with Orlando Pirates recording an important 2-1 away win to Maritzburg United, in a game that saw a number of familiar faces crossing paths. United’s technical, led by coach Fadlu Davids, have a number of former Bucs technical members while the new Bucs technical team under coach Jose Riveiro will be happy to continue with their winning momentum.

Coach Arthur Zwane’s Kaizer Chiefs suffered a 3-2 loss at Peter Mokaba Stadium, in Polokwane. This is a game that saw a number of Amakhosi supporters express their disappointment following unconvincing results from their team, especially leading up to the much-anticipated Soweto Derby against arch-rivals, Orlando Pirates, this coming weekend.

Cape Town City pushed Swallows FC to the 14th spot on the log following their 2-0 home win at Cape Town Stadium against the Dube Birds. Coach Ernst Middendorp’s Swallows team have now only secured five wins, six draws and nine losses in 20 matches so far this season and will be looking to get themselves out of the relegation zone in the remaining league matches.

TS Galaxy secured the seventh place on the log with their 2-1 win against AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida stadium.

With that brief summary of the weekend's results, have a go at selecting your Team of the Week and see how close you get to the official Soccer Laduma selection.
