Let's take a closer look at how it all went down!

First day of School with Sundowns

The Masandawana clan made the first day of school a memorable one for the Motlhake Primary School learners by blessing them with school shoes, new books and other stationary.

The Sundowns chairman Tlhopie Motsepe understands the important role that football plays in society, and with this gesture, the club hopes to inspire a new generation to dream further than their circumstances.

In a video of their visit to the Primary School, Motsepe mentioned that promoting football, healthy habits and education is of the utmost importance to the club's foundation.

"There's a few things that are very important to us, and its the promotion of football, its the promotion of healthy habits, and its the importance of education. And I think all of those three things work together in a wonderful ecosystem. So we want to make sure that through the power of football, and through the influence that our players and staff have, we want to give children in this country and the youth, motivation, self-confidence and belief," he says.

Players such as Banyana Banyana's goalkeeper Andile Dlamini and Rivaldo Coetzee, Thapelo Morena, Neo Maema, Thembelihle Masibi were all on hand to cover books and engage with the jubilant young learners.

Coetzee admitted that it was his first time covering an exercise book, while the school principal Ruth Mamba stated that the club has reinstated plenty of pride into the learners who didn't have these essentials going into the school year.
