Let's take a closer look at the boots...

PUMA FUTURE boots

The PUMA FUTURE Supercharge edition is the latest offering in the brand's line of FUTURE boots and takes things to a new level when it comes to innovation and technology.

As mentioned by PUMA in a press release, the boot is about pushing the boundaries of what a baller can do on the pitch in style.

The new FUTURE implements a redesign that's engineered for ultimate agility. The new edition includes an innovative FUZIONFIT360 dual mesh upper and integrates PUMA's exclusive PWRTAPE technology to enhance support for a space-age adaptive fit, so a baller can focus on driving the opposition crazy, whether they're playing with or without laces.

PUMA's Senior Product Line Manager for Teamsport Footwear, Florian Nemetz explained the significance of the PWRTAPE technology:

"The introduction of the PWRTAPE technology is an exciting innovation. The placement of the PWRTAPE is based on strain data collected from measuring strain forces on the upper of the boot during a variety of key football movements that include accelerating, running, cutting and kicking," he says

"The PWRTAPE has then been integrated in a zig-zag pattern to provide targeted support in the high strain areas. This provides our athletes with optimal support with an ultimate locked in fit so you can move without constraints when performing key movements on the pitch," he adds.

The purple and orange beauties allows athletes to unlock their creativity as the FUTURE boots feature engineered 3D textures that are placed in key contact zones to enhance ball grip and control when passing, dribbling, and finishing.

The FUTURE will be worn by the likes of Neymar Jr, and local stars such as Themba Zwane, Keagan Buchanan, Teboho Mokoena, Bongani Sam, Ethan Brooks, Sphelele Mkhulise, Zanele Nhlapo and Sibusiso Mabiliso.

As a step toward a better future the upper of the PUMA FUTURE features at least 30% recycled materials

"The FUTURE continues to evolve. I need a boot that feels comfortable and allows me to move with speed in all directions. The new FUTURE feels even more supportive and adaptive which helps me to make quick cuts when dribbling with the ball, so I can play without restraint," said Brazilian star, Neymar Jr, who helped launch the boots last week.

The PUMA FUTURE Supercharge edition also comes in a Women's cut and is available from 31 January on the PUMA site, retail stores and Totalsports, Studio 88 and other selected retailers. The retail price R 4 499!
