The Englishman has enjoyed a stellar start to the season as he regularly produces top performances both in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League. His exploits since moving to the Signal Iduna Park have garnered the attention of the likes of Liverpool, City, Real Madrid and Chelsea.

It seems the speculation surrounding the star player has left Hans-Joachim Watzke unsettled, with the club chief revealing when he would like to a definitive answer from the England international regarding his plans for his future.

"I think as soon as Qatar is over, we’re going to have a basic conversation about what he actually wants," Watze told Bild-TV.

"With him, with his parents, with whom we have a very close relationship and of course with his advisor. And then he should just tell us whether he wants to stay or whether he wants to go.

"Either way, we’ll discuss it pleasantly and reasonably."

Watze has conceded that if Bellingham does decide to leave and a bidding war is to ensue for the Stourbridge native, the Bundesliga outfit would have little-to-no chance in retaining his services.

"But we don’t have to pretend that the topic isn’t on the table," he added.

"When the really big ones are there, we can’t afford to fight financially either. Jude is a wonderful boy who also has his fluctuations – we’ve seen that now but he is certainly one of the greatest talents in European football."
