Premier League leaders Arsenal have reportedly entered the race to sign a shock Chelsea star on transfer deadline day.
Man Utd Make U-Turn On 'Ronaldo Rule'
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the EPL table-toppers have made an approach to the Blues over the potential acquisition of Italy midfielder Jorginho.
Arsenal have reportedly identified the 31-year-old as an option should their pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo fall through in the hours leading up to the transfer deadline.
Jorginho, who was crucial for Italy as they won the 2020 UEFA European Championship, has just six months left on his deal at Stamford Bridge and appears to have become surplus to requirements.
The Blues are said to be hopeful of landing Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez's signature before the early hours of Wednesday morning, with the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner still interested in a switch to the Premier League.
Arsenal, however, are reportedly still prioritising a deal for Caicedo, who could potentially cost the Gunners upwards of £70 million (R1.5 billion).
