Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that the club has extended Ousmane Dembele's stay at the Camp Nou.
Prior to attending a meeting with other Barca executives, the 60-year-old club chief had time to have a brief interaction with reporters.
The club recently announced the signing of Brazilian winger Raphinha from Leeds United for a reported fee of €58 million (R990 million), and, when members of the Spanish media asked him about the Brazilian, Laporta also revealed the contract extension of one of the club’s star attackers.
"This week we will present Raphinha and Dembele," Laporta said as per Marca.
The issue of Dembele’s contract has been a subject of transfer window discussion since the beginning of 2022 and it seems that the Blaugrana along with the Frenchman’s representatives have finally come to an agreement on fresh terms for the winger.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner was heavily touted to either rejoin his former manager Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea or return to his native France and play for Paris Saint-Germain.
It seems that the 25-year-old has opted to stay in Catalonia, where he has just enjoyed the most fruitful season since his arrival at the Camp Nou.
