Off the back of triumph in Qatar, one of Argentina's forwards at the 2022 FIFA World Cup is reportedly eyeing a move to Manchester United.

Transfer Update: Rashford

Once again this season, Lautaro Martinez has been spearheading an Inter Milan attack looking to compete for the Serie A title.

With the absence of Romelu Lukaku for most of the campaign due to injury, the Argentina international has been responsible for finding the back of the net for I Nerazzurri, a responsibility he has been fulfilling to a high level.

The World Cup winner has scored 15 goals in 31 matches across all competitions for the Italian giants so far this season, and while the 25-year-old would like to stay at the Giuseppe Meazza, it seems Italy's only treble-winning team may have to soon let their new captain leave because of the economic restraints on the club.

In light of Inter's financial situation, if Martinez is to leave the club, he will only do so for the Red Devils, according to Todofichajes.

It is said that United have been courting the forward for a number of years and because he is aware of the English giants' long-standing interest in him, he would only prioritise a move to Old Trafford.

The same report suggests that Chelsea are also keen on bringing the Argentine to England, but United hold the advantage over their London rivals.

Man Utd Transfer News: Five Out, Four In?

Martinez was reportedly close to leaving Inter during the off-season, but the Serie A side failed to find a deal that was suitable for all parties.

With United currently looking for a new forward, perhaps it is only a matter of time before the 2020/21 Scudetto winner signs with Erik ten Hag's side.
