Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken out on his Manchester United departure.
The Red Devils announced on Tuesday evening that the two parties had mutually agreed to part ways with six months left on his contract.
The decision came after Ronaldo's exclusive interview with Piers Morgan, where he criticised the Erik ten Hag and the club for various issues.
Ronaldo, who is on international duty with Portugal at the World Cup, took to social media announce his goodbyes.
"Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early," the 37-year-old's statement read, according to EuroSport.
"I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change.
"However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge.
"I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future."
Ronaldo is now a free agent and will be able to join any club of choice when the transfer window officially opens on 1 January 2023.
