Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has responded to Jose Mourinho's sly dig at the Blaugrana suggesting that the Spanish outfit are among the "failed sharks of the Champions League" as they face elimination from the competition.
Ronaldo Bound To Join Serie A Giants?
Following their 3-3 draw with Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League earlier this month, Barca now face a real possibility of being knocked out of the competition this week.
The Blaugrana will face Bayern Munich at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night, but a victory over the Bavarians will be redundant if the Nerazzurri beat Viktoria Plzen in the earlier Group C match-up.
Mourinho recently aimed a jab at the Blaugrana as they face demotion to the UEFA Europa League, and while the taunt may have stung, Xavi has since refused to be baited by the Portuguese's comments.
"I will not say anything to Mourinho,” the Barca boss said, as per Goal.
"If we have to play in the Europa League, we will try to compete to win it."
The former playmaker did, however, acknowledge that his men will need a large slice of luck to progress to the next stage of Europe's premier club competition, something he thinks has eluded his side so far in the tournament.

"We need more than a miracle, we have a small hope, although we are in a very uncomfortable situation. In football, sometimes the one who deserved it, doesn’t always win," Xavi added.
"Hope is the last thing to be lost. The misfortune is that we aren't dependent on ourselves anymore.
"The Champions League has been cruel to us this year."
