Revealed: Bafana Captain’s Picks For FIFA Men’s Best Award

There were very little surprises when it came to the selection from Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams when it came to his picks for the FIFA Men’s best awards.

Amid helping his side chase CAF Champions League glory and looking to help Bafana Bafana qualify for the AFCON, Williams gave his input on some of the world’s best players and coaches over the last season.

While the writing was on the wall in most categories, there were still some interesting for Williams choices to select from.

The outright favourite for the coveted award was Lionel Messi. The Argentine captain finally got his hands on the FIFA World Cup and played a pivotal role in his country’s achievement.

Like his head coach Hugo Broos, Williams joined the scores of coaches and players who voted for the 36-year-old to win his seventh FIFA Men’s best award.

Messi captained Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar, and scored 27 goals in 49 games for club and country in the 2021/22 season.
