An initiative called ‘Best of the Best’ has been established to unearth some of the best u17 players in Mzansi, via a high performance national camp.

It was built on the back of the successful Africa2Europe initiative from the Football Project where the same group, which comprises of scout Eldon Smith, former PSL coach Clinton Larson, Thabang Matuka, identified amateur talent around the country with the view of getting them into Europe.

“It’s a nationwide talent search to find the most elite players in the country and the players that are selected at the search will form part of the high performance camp, for which the objective is to have the best young players in the country together and to create a database where those players can be further developed and exposed to opportunities,” Smith said.
