Sekhukhune FC coach MacDonald Makhubedu has spoken about the importance of having experienced assistant coaches.
The co-coaching in the Premier Soccer league has become a new trend and Makhubedu says it has not been hard to adapt to the new setup of having senior coaches assist him.
"Since I've started coaching 14 years ago, I've always been surrounded by senior coaches, from ABC Motsepe League to GladAfrica Championship. I spent six years in the NFD. You must always have good assistant coaches, so they can help you to improve," Makhubedu told the media in Durban.
"We have big boys here and obviously, there will be egos and I'm not saying we must massage their egos but we have to be able to deal with them. So that's why you must have experienced assistant coaches around you.
"With Owen da Gama, we've been close for years, even coach Themba Sithole, been in the game for more than 30 years. It is all about learning and working well together. We put our team first before ourselves."
