Marumo Gallants Relegated, Swallows Clinch Top 8
Marumo Gallants were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Swallows FC on the final day of the season.
Fresh from their CAF Confederation Cup action, Gallants had their fate in their own hands as they knew a win would seal their top-flight status for another campaign.
Swallows, meanwhile, were in with a shout for a top eight position after their recent form took them out of the relegation zone.
The Limpopo outfit did not have all their way though, as Swallows took the lead shortly before the break when Lindokuhle Mtshali found the back of the net.
The Dube Birds went on to seal the win late in the second half, with Mtshali completing his brace on the day and condemning Gallants to the second tier of South African football.
