An insider has informed the Siya crew that the club is close to a decision on offering Mdaka a senior team contract.
The source added that the youngster is tipped to take over from the likes of Sifiso Hlanti and Happy Mashiane.
"He was invited to train with the main team in the last few days and it seems the technical team was impressed and they recommended to management that he should be promoted to the senior team and be given a first team contract," a source revealed.
"He has been offered a three year contract for now though it’s not yet finalised but it is as good as done. He is still leading the team in the DDC league at the moment but it's just to finish the season but next season he will be with the first team," the source added.
Mdaka was made captain of the DDC side after Mduduzi Shabalala was promoted to the senior team this season.
