Kaizer Chiefs have announced their new technical sponsor for the 2023/24 season after ending their 23-year relationship with Nike.

Amakhosi on Thursday announced that they will be donning popular Italian brand Kappa for the foreseeable future as their technical sponsor.

After Chiefs' relationship with Nike, which stems from the 2001/02 season ended, the Siya crew reported that Chiefs could possibly be teaming up with Castore, however, it was the Italian giants that ultimately won the race to kit out the Glamour Boys.

It is not the first time that Chiefs and Kappa join forces however.

There was a seven-year relationship between the two brands from 1989 to 1996 and now it has been rekindled after Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung made her way to Italy where the landmark deal was signed this week.

“We are excited to team up with Kappa once again, a brand with which Kaizer Chiefs set new records and established itself as trendsetters in African football in the early 1990s. Kappa, like Kaizer Chiefs, is a unique brand of style and class and one of the key players in the global football kit space. Kappa have had great partnerships with some of the world’s leading football clubs, as well as a number of local teams over the years. This deal is not only an acknowledgment of our past but also an exciting leap into the future for the club,” Motaung told the club's official website of the new deal.
