Khama Billiat, who has never tasted cup glory in Kaizer Chiefs colours, has outlined his ambitions for the new season, stating why he believes the 2022/23 season could be his best ever at the club.
The Zimbabwean joined Chiefs in 2018 from Mamelodi Sundowns and he is yet to win silverware in those four years.
Billiat scored 24 goals and provided 26 assists in 114 games for Chiefs.
The attacker, speaking at the Amakhosi media day this week, is optimistic that the club can end their seven-year trophy drought as Arthur Zwane has assembled a good enough team to challenge for honours this season.
“Without putting anyone under pressure, we want to be competitive this season, and we want to compete for everything that comes our way. We want to go all the way and give everything we can,” Billiat told the media at Naturena in Soweto.
“I think this is one of the seasons where we have good players, and we have good energy in the team. We can feel it and also feel that the way we train is going to pay off. We are just praying to God that we have less injuries this season or no injuries at all.”
The 31-year-old also revealed his ambition for the new season.
“Every season, I want to win something, and I wake up every day working very hard,” he said
“And I need everyone at the club to do the same and realise that the team deserves to get a trophy at the end of the season. I want to do better than I ever did, and I always want to do better."
