Official: Ex-Pirates Man Finds A New Home

Maritzburg United have officially confirmed the signing of former Orlando Pirates defender Wayde Jooste, following a brief assessment period with the Team of Choice.

Coach Fadlu Davids has been actively working on his squad ahead of the resumption of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership.

As such, the coach has looked to bring in experienced campaigners that will help the KwaZulu-Natal outfit move off the foot of the table.

On Thursday morning, Maritzburg officially announced the capture of Jooste, who was previously on the books of Pirates. The 31-year-old had also spent time training with Gavin Hunt at SuperSport United before reuniting with his former coach in KZN.

"Player Announcement. Jooste Signs with the Team of Choice. Maritzburg United Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Wayde Jooste. A technically gifted footballer who plays with attacking flair and a high work rate," the club tweeted.
