On Saturday the South African topflight football season comes to a close when Sekhukhune United and Orlando Pirates face each other in the Nedbank Cup final at Loftus Stadium in Pretoria.

So far this season, Babina Noko collected four points from Pirates in the league with a win and a draw though they are going into this game as the underdogs.

Speaking to the Siya crew at the Media Open Day, midfielder Sibusiso "Villa" Vilakazi stated that as a team they are proud of what they have already accomplished this season so far.

The former PSL Player of the Season said United are giving themselves a pat on the back for their record against Pirates in the league this season so far, but that now the focus is on the Nedbank Cup final.

"It's a small pat (on the back) of course. I mean it's half the job done because now we need to do the full job which is play in the final. Not playing the moment," Vilakazi told Soccer Laduma.

"Not playing the crowds but playing the game with the aim to win. People don't remember the loser. They only remember the winner.

"We give ourselves a pat on the back with a win and a draw in the league but this is the most important one. It is important in terms of how you need to put a trophy in front of a season you had whether good or bad.

"But with the season we've had it's fairly okay. Qualifying for Confederation Cup, for Top Eight also. And now there is a cup in front of us and we have to see what we do on the day. Winning it would be the perfect way to crown the great season that we had," the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder stated.
