An in-form Orlando Pirates star is giving the club something to think about with his improved performances amid pending decisions at the club.

After almost three years since his arrival at the Buccaneers from Bidvest Wits, Terrence Dzvukamanja will see his contract expire at the end of June.

The Zimbabwean international signed for Pirates in 2020 and had high hopes of continuing with the progress he made while with the Students during his two-year spell.

However, things didn’t go quite as planned for the attacker as he struggled with apparent loss of form, having scored only one league goal from 40 appearances in his first two seasons with the Soweto giants.

This season, the 28-year-old had been nowhere near Jose Riveiro’s match day squads in the earlier stages until he resurfaced this year after recovering from injury.

Following his impressive showing in the last four matches, Dzvukamanja has given the club something to think about after being strongly linked with an exit in recent weeks.

The attack-minded player has scored one goal and added an assist in four matches that he has featured in so far in the 2022/23 campaign.

He played in all the last three matches and was rewarded with his first start of the campaign in the most recent fixture against Marumo Gallants last weekend and didn’t disappoint as he had a hand in Monnapule Saleng’s goal in the 2-0 victory.

Sources close to Bucs confirmed that the club had a difficult decision to make before loaning Kwame Peprah to Maritzburg United, as well as Zakhele Lepasa who joined SuperSport United on the last day of the transfer window for the remainder of the season.

“The coach is spoilt for choice with regards to the attacking options but in the end some players had to leave to open space for the new arrivals like the Cameroonian (Souaibou Marou). A decision was made based on age and the younger ones had to go on loan in order to get game time,” a source confirmed.

Indications are that Pirates is expected to decide on Dzvukamanja’s future at the end of the season.
