After spending the first half of the season on loan at Maritzburg United, Pirates’ Bongani Sam will yet again be out on loan at Swallows for what is left of the current season, in order to help the player gain the much-needed game-time.
Sam, 25, joined Pirates from Bloemfontein Celtic back in 2019, although in the last season he was deemed surplus to requirements and was subsequently sent out on loan.
The left back made nine appearances for the Team of Choice but had been completely left out of the KwaZulu-Natal outfit’s last seven games.
Sources have confirmed to the Siya crew that the player will spend the rest of the 2022/23 campaign with the Birds and joins the likes of Tshegofatso Mabasa, Nkanyiso Zungu, Zakhele Lepasa and Boitumelo Radiopane, who are all out on loan at various clubs this campaign.
