An insight has been given from Cameroon on what Orlando Pirates new forward Marou Souaibou brings to the team.
Following reports back in November last year that Pirates were negotiating with Coton Sport for the potential signing of Souaibou, the Soweto giants eventually officially announced the Cameroonian as a new signing on Thursday.
Souaibou, who was in the Indomitable Lions' squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, has signed a deal that will keep him at the Sea Robbers at least until 2025.
Cameroonian journalist, Angu Lesley, who broke the story of the Buccaneers' intentions to sign the 22-year old for his native publication Kick442, has given an insight into what Souaibou brings to the Soweto giants.
Lesley has given a given a brief profile of Souaibou and revealed that he is actually not a natural striker but a winger who happens to score on a regular basis.
"He (was) the captain of the most successful team in the country (Cameroon) Coton Sport, of the 17 titles they have won," Lesley told Metro FM Sports.

"He has been a first team player for Coton Sport for the past four years, he was part of the side that had a wonderful run in the CAF Confederation Cup, reaching the semi-finals in 2020, they would have played Pirates in the final (had they progressed).
"He is a very pacey forward, many will see the figures and think he's an out-and-out centre forward, he's type of a winger who does well in the box, cutting behind the defenders and using his pace," he said.
"He is so quick and so fast. In Cameroon he put so many full-backs in trouble over the past few years. Unfortunately, he won't be part of the Cameroon squad for the CHAN because of the arrangement with Pirates."
Souaibou, who was the Player of the Season in Cameroon's Elite League in 2022, has reportedly scored 30 goals in 63 matches and Lesley went on to praise the player's goalscoring exploits for club and country.
"That's prolific for a player who is not a striker, as a matter of fact, he was the top scorer in Cameroon last year with 14 goals, he was the top scorer in the CAF Confederation Cup, he scored in all the rounds of the preliminaries, he scored in the group stages against TP Mazembe," he continued.
"He's been scoring goals even for the national team. He scored for the Indomitable Lions to bring Cameroon to Algeria (for the CHAN tournament). He was part of the squad who travelled to Algeria and succeeded for the World Cup Qatar 2022, so he's been around, he's been close to the Cameroon national team for close to a year," he added.
Souaibou also reportedly had interest from top clubs in Germany and France.
