Despite the exit of their longest serving player, Stellies’ central defence is in safe hands with the perfect combination of youth and experience.

Coach Steve Barker will still be able to call on teenagers Olwethu Makhanya (18) – who was handed a new deal by the club – and Oswin Andries (19). While Athenkosi Mcaba (20) is on the mend after a long-term injury.

As cover for their youthful defenders, Stellies are also able to call on Lasse Sobiech (31) and Vusi Sibiya (28)

Stellies get their campaign back underway with a home clash against Chippa United at the Danie Craven Stadium on Friday 30 December.
