Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster made his debut for Burnley in their FA Cup encounter against Ipswich Town on Saturday evening

The former Orlando Pirates man was unveiled by the Clarets earlier this week following his move from Westerlo.

Coach Vincent Kompany opted to name the 22-year-old on the bench for the tie, but he was introduced for his official debut in the 66th minute.

The South African forward got a decent amount minutes under his belt, but the Clarets were unable to find the back of the net as the encounter ended goalless at Turf Moor.

The tie will now be decided in a replay, although the date of the fixture will be announced in due course.

Foster and Burnley now turn focus back to the Championship next weekend against Norwich City, with the Bafana striker looking to make his league bow.
