Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom has listed his best memories at the club after his transfer to Major League Soccer outfit St. Louis City SC.

Blom was a subject of transfer speculation since Soccer Laduma broke the news that he had reached a deadlock on new contract negotiations with Chiefs.

The 23-year old's contract at Amakhosi was set to expire at the end of the season and his agent Rob Moore's stance on holding out for a better financial package dominated the transfer saga.

The Glamour Boys eventually had an agreement to sell their development product to MSL outfit St. Louis City recently.

Coincidentally, Chiefs' first game without Blom on their books will be against Golden Arrows, a team that 'Stoppa' made his debut against in 2019.

"It was against Golden Arrows. I had a great game that day because the big guys (at Chiefs) showed me support and love," Blom looked back on his time at Chiefs after his departure was announced via the club's media department.

"They welcomed me very well and the coach also made things easier for me by telling me to relax and not be afraid to make mistakes because, obviously, it was my first game. The supporters and the team would allow me that in my first match."

The St. Louis City midfielder went on to share the best memories he has had at Amakhosi, which will remain close to his heart forever.

The 23-year old says he is sad to a leave club that he grew up supporting, honed his talents at as a youngster and a team that gave him his break in the professional ranks.

"It’s sad because this is the team I grew up supporting and the moments and experiences I shared with the team, like going to CAF (Champions League), losing the final, are moments I won’t forget in my life and, because I came through the development team, it adds extra meaning," he said.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder, however, is also looking forward to starting a new chapter abroad.

"I am also excited because it’s a new journey for me. It’s every player’s dream to go and play abroad," he added.
