Kaizer Chiefs could lose one of their targets as Marumo Gallants striker Ranga Chivaviro is expected to be on his way to Young Africans FC in Tanzania.

As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Amakhosi were linked with the 30-year-old former Baroka FC striker with the intention of signing him.

Now, one of the most wanted strikers in Africa, indications are that he has been offered a three-year contract by Yanga, according to reliable sources both in South Africa and Tanzania.

The sources informed the Siya crew that what remains now is an agreement between Gallants and Yanga, but as for the player and the club, all is seemingly good.

"He has agreed to personal terms and he has been offered a three-year contract. I am not sure of the signing on fee and salary because they were calculating them in US dollars. They wanted either (Khanyisa) Mayo from Cape Town City or Chivaviro but they ended up settling for Chivaviro because of his experience," said the source.

In addition, another source said that Yanga wanted to see what will happen to Gallants in the DStv Premiership before concluding the deal.

"If the team was not relegated it could have been hard for the team to release the striker because they just revoked his one year option on his contract. Now his contract runs until June 2024 but they want to cash out on him hence they are allowing him to move as they don't want to keep him for the Motsepe Foundation Championship. So, since Yanga are serious about him, I think he will be going to Tanzania," concluded the source.

When reached for comment, Yanga President Hersi Ally Said did not want to reveal his cards.

"I am not in a position to comment nor say anything on this issue right now. But you can check with me again sometime then we can talk about it," he said.
