The Siya crew understands Kaizer Chiefs are set to review the role of their head of youth and technical Molefi Ntseki. A former Bafana Bafana coach roped in two years ago prior to the arrival of Stuart Baxter, with his announcement coinciding with that of Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jnr, it’s believed the Glamour Boys will assess whether Ntseki remains suitable for the job.
The feeling internally is that the veteran mentor should not be pressing any panic buttons due to the work he has put in behind the scenes with the development set-up, but with Chiefs’ trophy drought extending to eight years, it’s only natural for the club to ask questions. Ntseki was also meant to work closely with Arthur Zwane, head coach of the senior team after Baxter was sacked in April last year.
Soccer Laduma reported last week that the 53-year-old had, in fact, been considered for a senior role alongside Zwane with their season taking a turn for the worse, and now subsequently ending fifth in the DStv Premiership. Ntseki “refused”, according to the insider.
