Bafana Bafana will have a chance to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations when they visit Liberia in their penultimate group game on Tuesday evening.
Africa Cup of Nations qualifier
Teams: Liberia v South Africa
Date: 28 March 2023
Venue: Monrovia Stadium
Time: 18h00
Bafana missed the chance to have a lesser task in their return game against Liberia after they squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with the Lone Stars last Friday.
The sides got a point apiece and their first in Group K after they both lost their opening games against Morocco.
By virtue of a draw between Bafana and Liberia, the Atlas Lions qualified with two matches to spare.
A win for either side in Monrovia will seal qualification to the finals in Ivory Coast next year with a match to spare.
Another draw, however, will mean the last Afcon place in the group will be decided by the results in their respective last matches against Morocco.
A draw with a scoreline of less than two goals apiece will put South Africa at a disadvantage, when it comes to head to head, should the sides finish equal on points.
Here's how they line up:
South Africa: Williams, Mobbie, Xulu, Mvala, Maela, Mokoena, Sithole, Morena, Mayambela, Tau, Lepasa
Subs: Mothwa, Goss, Le Roux, Sibisi, Kekana, Foster, Modiba, Saleng, Zwane, Mailula, Hlongwane
