The sale of the club left the community of Tembisa distraught after it was revealed that the Lions of the North had been renamed TS Galaxy and relocated to the Mpumalanga province.

Highlands managed to keep the crop of their SAB League players after the sale and it was business as usual for the club, albeit without a top-flight status. The club recently took to social media to remind the masses that they are indeed alive and kicking- putting an end to rumours that the club is now defunct.

Now, there could well be a glimmer of hope for the team who are coached by former player and Swallows legend Greg Etafia, as they are set to compete in the ABC Motsepe League play-offs this weekend.

In preparation for the playoffs, Highlands formed part of SAFA Ekurhuleni SAB Top 8 Tournament contested by teams from the Ekurhuleni region.

In the quarter-finals they swept aside Germiston City 3-0, before seeing off Corinthians Black Aces 2-1 in the semi-final.
