EA Sports was set to put French superstar Kylian Mbappe in a different kit on the cover of the upcoming FIFA 23 game.

Take a look!

Kylian Mbappe was embroiled in an intense transfer saga where he was set to join European champions Real Madrid, the young baller then did a u-turn and extended his contract with PSG.

His new deal is over R800 million a year, with an outrageous signing bonus of R1.9 billion and it offers him more influence at the Parisian club.

His transfer to Los Blancos looked so certain that EA was ready to have him in their famous white kit on the cover of FIFA 23.

In a New York Times feature, it reveals that EA Sports were ready to have Mbappe in Real Madrid colours for the FIFA 23 cover.

In a meeting at EA's offices, the hands-on Mbappe reportedly asked the FIFA game manufacturers to prepare him in Madrid's kit.

The article also went into detail about how French President Emmanuel Macron stepped in to convince the French star to stay in the country.

"I never imagined I'm gonna talk with the president about my future in my career, so it's something crazy, really something crazy," Mbappe told the New York Times.

It was also revealed that EA's vice president, David Jackson was impressed by how committed Mbappe was willing to sit through strategy meetings.

This came after Mbappe was at the EA headquarters in California where the FIFA makers picked him as the final cover star in the FIFA franchise.

He shares the cover with Chelsea and Australia Women's star Sam Kerr.
