For the first time in more than 100 years, Manchester United lost their two opening matches of the season, first to Brighton & Hove Albion, in which the Seagulls overcame Man Utd 2-1, and then Brentford put four past the Red Devils.

All eyes were fixed on United's match against Liverpool on Monday; protests were occurring during the week building up to it and a result was needed.

United boss Erik ten Hag made a bold call by not only benching club captain Harry Maguire, but also five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo as Anthony Elanga, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford led the attack.

As things turned out, the Red Devils were the better side on the night as they managed to grab their first points of the season, winning that match 2-1, and it appears Ronaldo wasn't missed much as the youngsters up front made life incredibly hard for Liverpool's defence!
