The 2013 edition of Shine, the annual Jewellery and Luxury magazine, now in its fifth year was recently launched at the Mercedes Benz Showroom in Bryanston. Top Billing TV Presenter, Simba Mahere, emceed the evening as well as announcing the winners of the Plat Africa Awards by Anglo American Platinum.? ?South Africa`s well-loved personalities, Masego `Maps` Maponyane, Vanessa Carreira, Rosie Motene, Craig Jacobs, Gert Johan Coetzee were in attendance to not only celebrate the launch but to marvel at the latest Mercedes Benz cars that were launched as well as the beautifully designed jewellery worn by the models for the Plat Africa Awards. The models were dressed in David Tlale`s latest collection, fresh off the catwalk. There were two categories in the Anglo Plat Awards with the 1st place in the Professional category –( fantasy) going to Oliver Ernest Green from Jack Friedman Jewellers and the 1st place in the Student category (memories of Africa) going to Graham Baloni from Tshwane University of Technology.? When it comes to the current Jewellery trends, Kerese Thom, editor of Shine/Skitter says that it's a wonderful time for Jewellery lovers in that all tastes and styles are catered for. "All types of metal looks, from rose gold to platinum are big and can be worn mixed together. Fine jewellery and costume looks can also be combined, making fashion looks accessible to everyone."
