South Africans were shocked to hear the sad news of the passing of seasoned actress Busisiwe Lurayi who passed away on Sunday, 10 July 2022.
According to a statement shared by her agency, Eye Media Artists, the 36-year-old passed away suddenly and the cause of her death is still unknown.
"We are deeply saddened to notify you of the passing of our beloved Busisiwe Lurayi. Busisiwe passed away suddenly and was pronounced dead at her residence on Suday 10.07.2022 by medical personnel. The reason for her death is still unknown as we await the results of the autopsy report," the statement reads before ending with a request for privacy.

Busi was much-loved for her role as the sassy Phumzile in SABC 1's sitcom, City Ses'La, which later became Ses' Top la. Recently, fans adored her for her portrayal of the dysfunctional sister Tumi Sello in Netflix's hit series, How to Ruin Christmas.
During an interview with TRUELOVE ahead of the show's second season, which aired early this year, Busi said she enjoyed being part of the show because "it's beautifully refreshing to see a story told by our people for our people for the world and you can see the beauty of who we are as a people. We have a history that is very difficult but we are able to thrive".
