Celebrated actor Patrick Shai has died.
His family confirmed his death on Saturday 22 January 2022, Channel24 reports that the actor died by suicide.
"It is with great sadness to announce the passing of the veteran actor Patrick Shai. He passed away this morning," said the family in a statement.
The family has also asked to be given space to process the difficult news.

The actor's career spanned decades as he appeared in shows such as Generations, Soul City, and most recently, Skeem Saam and The River.
The news of the actor's death caught South Africans by surprise with some expressing shock and disbelief.
Just a few days ago, the actor released a controversial video addressing Cassper Nyovest and challenging him to a fight. He soon after released an apology for his language and the manner in which he addressed the rapper.
