February is truly a month dedicated to celebrating and spending time with the ones you love, and while many typically associate the tradition with romantic partners, there is one special day dedicated to showing love to your gal pals.

Galentine’s Day, observed on 13 February, originated from the popular comedy series Parks and Recreation and has since been accepted into popular culture around the world. The day is reserved to commemorate and declare your love and appreciation for the ladies that make up your support system.

In celebration of Galentine’s Day, here’s a list of our favourite celebrity best friends who personify the meaning of friendship:

1. DJ Zinhle, Moozlie and Pearl Thusi

Like with everyone else, celebrity friendships have their ups and downs but there will always be love. In such trying times, it has been a blessing to witness DJ Zinhle’s growing friendship with musician Nomuzi ‘Moozlie’ Mabena, with the rapper being a part of the planning committee of DJ Zinhle’s intimate baby shower as well as her appointment as creative director of DJ Zinhle’s fashion - accessory brand Era By DJ Zinhle.

The renowned DJ’s nearly-decade-long friendship with actress Pearl Thusi has also been one that inspires love, no matter where you are in the world. Speaking to Kaya FM’s breakfast show hosts Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka, Zinhle describes her friendship with Pearl as “a sisterhood”.
