After the shocking news of Riky Rick's death was revealed on 23 February 2022, his family, friends and fans have not stopped mourning the late star.

At his memorial service, Riky Rick's friends, fans and colleagues in the music industry gathered to celebrate his life, alongside his family. Many spoke on their friendship with Riky Rick, his undeniable sense of style and admirable character. 

Laduma Ngxokolo, founder of MaXhosa Africa - a brand Riky Rick was often seen wearing, spoke candidly about what he will miss about the King of Kotini.

He told TRUELOVE, "Everything about him represented love. The way that he dressed, especially that part, especially how he dressed up our brand and showcased it to the world. You could almost think he was wearing things that he designed himself ... I designed the clothes and then he designed his looks."

Hosted at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, Riky Rick's memorial service was filled with stars from the entertainment and music industry including Boity, Rouge, Bonang Matheba, Uncle Vinny, Cassper Nyovest, KiD X and Nomuzi 'Moozlie' Mabena - who was the MC at the event - as well as Nadia Nakai, Lira and Big Zulu who all honoured Riky Rick with a performance.
