In the last year, few awards ceremonies have had a physical red carpet, so it always feels like a treat when there is one to enjoy as viewers.
This was the case for this year’s 93rd Academy Awards - the biggest night in entertainment - which took place on Sunday. Nominees were encouraged to arrive in person if they could, and all necessary COVID-19 protocols were followed including vaccinations, testing, distancing and masks when the cameras are off.
Some of the biggest stars in the world gathered at Union Station in Los Angeles and the resulting red carpet was filled with looks that exuded elegance, creativity, and a lot of colour.

Among some of the winners of the night, Tyler Perry won the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award; Anthony Hopkins walked away with the Oscar for best actor in a leading role for his role on The Father; Daniel Kaluuya won best actor in a supporting role for his role on Judas and the Black Messiah; and the best picture award went to Nomadland.
