
On Monday, 23 May 2022, South Africans were saddened to hear about the sudden passing of award-winning actor Jamie Bartlett who was popular for his role as the devious David Genaro on e.tv’s Rhythm City.
According to eNCA, a family member confirmed that the 55-year-old had died on Monday evening. The cause of his death is not yet known.
Prior to starring in Rhythm City, the British-born South African actor had worked on a number of international productions such as American Ninja 2, Red Dust and Beyond Borders – where he acted alongside Steve James, Angelina Jolie and Hillary Swank, among others.

In South Africa, the theatre trained actor had won a number of awards including The Crystal Award for Best Actor for his role in Isidingo, as well as three SAFTA Awards for his role as David Genaro, in 2009, 2015 and 2019.
