When it comes to celebrity relationships, Mohale Motaung and Somizi Mhlongo’s has been a very controversial one. From being the poster couple of gay marriage in 2020 to quickly going through a messy divorce, which is riddled with abuse allegations and legal battles.
While Somzi has had a chance to tell his side of the story on his reality show Living the dream with Somizi, it is now Mohale’s turn to dish out the dirt in a new tell-all interview that is due to air on Showmax on 4 August 2022.
Titled Mohale: On the Record, the interview will be a tell-all between Mohale and news anchor Aldrin Sampear.
“As a queer person, their union has been a celebration of what many would love to achieve but, because of societal norms, have struggled to. Some of us even lived our fantasies through their love story and became invested in it,” Aldrin says in a statement sent to TRULEOVE.
“This sit down is an opportunity to hear Mohale’s version of their union, and now, its cracks,” he continued.

While Mohale revealed that he had no intention of commenting on his failed marriage, he now felt the need to.
“A lot has been said about me, both true and untrue. I initially had no intentions to publicly speak of the events that have occurred, due to an agreement I had with the other parties involved. But when the agreement was dishonoured by the other party, it became paramount to I tell my truth as I know it,” Mohale says in the statement.
Now, Showmax has released the trailer of the explosive interview, in which Mohale can be heard speaking about the physical abuse he allegedly endured from Somizi.
“I was happy until certain things started to happen … Like the control and constantly being reminded that I bring nothing to the table except my pretty face,” Mohale tells Aldrin in the trailer.
“I remember him saying that he needs to mess up my face,” Mohale says to Aldrin before beginning to recall an incident where he had to crawl down the stairs.
The trailer ends with Aldrin asking Mohale why he didn’t open a case.
When TRUELOVE reached out for comment from Somizi about the allegations, he did not respond to our queries.
