Lerato Zah Moloi has for the first time opened up about the pain of losing her mother, veteran actress Candy Moloi.

She told TRUELOVE in an exclusive interview that she thinks about her mother every day.

“Not a single day goes by without me thinking about her. She was my pillar of strength,” says Lerato.

The star adds that it will take a long time for her to come to terms with her loss.

“My mother played a major role in moulding me to be the woman I am today," she says.

"Not having her around is a constant reminder that I have lost someone who was my everything. But I cherish the time I spent with her. There are so many things I wish I could share with her, but she’ll always be in my heart.”

Lerato's new role on Legacy

Even though Lerato is still grieving the loss of her mother, she has something exciting to look forward to. She has turned over a new leaf in her career and landed a new role on M-Net’s telenovela, Legacy.

She plays the role of Siyabonga Thwala’s wife.

“This role is unlike anything I’ve done before. It’s exciting to be able to do something like this. This week was my debut and I hope the audience will love the character as much as I do,” says Lerato.

Catch Legacy from Monday to Thursday on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) at 7pm.
