Not too long ago we celebrated the inaugural TRUELOVE Home & Decor cover reveal with our cover star, Johanna Makgalemele.

Friends and colleagues gathered at the luxurious Southern Sun Hyde Park hotel in Johannesburg to toast Johanna’s cover star moment. Bubbles were, of course, flowing courtesy of La Motte Wine and Valdo.

TRUELOVE typically hosts cover reveal celebrations for the main brand bi-monthly magazines. But Johanna just couldn't not have her reveal. We got to celebrate the TRUELOVE Home & Décor cover reveal for the very first time.

TRUELOVE editor-in-chief Makhosazana Zwane-Siguqa says, “Our Jojo, being who she is, said ‘I cannot not have my own cover reveal’. I said ‘Johanna, we don’t have budget’. She said ‘Who are you talking to about budget? We will make it happen’”.

“I wish I could stand here and say TRUELOVE did this. Johanna, believing in herself and celebrating herself actually did this, so congratulations to you,” Khosi adds.

Johanna says, “It was 18 months coming and I wasn’t sure, you know like everyone, you just don’t want to open your homes to the people and worst of all if it’s on a magazine it’s to the world.

“When Bassie (Basetsana Kumalo) saw it, she was like, ‘girl, 28 pages?’ And then I started to panic because ‘oh my God, what is in that 28 pages?’ But really beautifully captured.”

Among the guests at this intimate celebration was Rosette Ncwana, Gorgeous Mbali, Itumeleng Mokwatlo, Teekay Goldfish and Simphiwe Majola.
