Every Sunday during the eviction show – emotions run high, the mood becomes sombre and fingers get crossed. The housemates are hopeful that they’ve got enough votes for them to stay longer in the Big Brother Titans house and win the $100 000 prize.
It is like a routine, but they still can’t get used to it.
“Listen, every single time when we stand up on a Sunday during the eviction show, and your pairs name gets called out; it is nerve-wracking, you kind of get scared of what might happen because you never know what might happen. It is a different feeling, you are squeezing each other’s hands, all your toes are crossed from your fingers to your feet, and you’ll squeeze your butt cheeks a little bit right there,” Juicy Jay laughs.
While the 24-year-old rugby player from the Eastern Cape and his show partner, Olivia, better known as Juiovla as a pair, are among the latest to leave Big Brother’s house, he says he still has his head held high.
“My plan going forward is to get straight to work. I want to build the Juicy Jay brand, and I am ready to keep whatever goes my way going. I want to focus my energy on things that will benefit and help me grow. I want things that will take me to the next level, I am not sure how at the moment, but I am willing to continue the momentum,” he says.

Siyamthanda Jwacu, who goes by the stage name Juicy Jay, became known for his sense of humour in the Big Brother house. He says while catching up with us that being hilarious comes naturally to him, this is also something that impacted his success in the show.
“Laughter is always healing medicine, I am always around funny people and I know how laughter can distract you from a lot of things and gets you into thinking positively because already the world has negativity in it. So, for me, I am about spreading good vibes and energy. I think people received my personality well,” he shares.
He tells us he didn’t see their eviction coming at all. He recalls telling his partner, Olivia, that they were a strong pair and not going anywhere anytime soon.
“I didn’t see us leaving in week seven. I didn’t think it was for us, that’s why I thought to myself that ‘Lawrence is going to call us up and say what needs to be said then tell us to sit down’ so I didn’t see it coming and when it happened, it was a big shock to my system. I had a lot of mixed emotions flowing through my head.”
Juicy Jay adds that, as much as he’s disappointed to have left the competition, he is proud of his accomplishments on the show. He tells us he’s taking the announcement of his eviction one step at a time.
“I walked into the Big Brother house with my head held high and walked out great man. I’m so proud of myself and Olivia, I am proud of the man I was in that house. I am proud of how far I have stayed in the game, I speak highly of myself.
“I am taking the eviction, day by day because I miss the house. I miss my friends in the house, I know I still had a lot to offer but you know the sun rises in the morning despite how I feel, so for now I am taking it in. I am taking the feeling of being evicted in, I am walking through it, but I am not going to dwell in it for too long because my life begins now, and the hard work starts now,” he adds.

Nelisa Msila echoes the same sentiments. She tells TRUELOVE that she was shocked by her eviction alongside her partner, Yemi, who together made the pair, Yelisa.
She recalls fighting her emotions to stay calm.
“I was just trying to stay positive because there I knew there was nothing I could do. It was like a wave of calmness hit me because I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason and us being evicted in that moment was meant to happen. It was our time, unfortunately, we had to go home.”
She says that even if there was a chance to do things differently, she wouldn’t take it because she doesn’t have any regrets with how she played the game.
“I believe that I’ve done everything to the best of my ability. I was myself throughout, so I don’t think there’s anything I regret and I don’t think I would have changed anything because I would have been changing myself.”
Nelisa, who hails from the Eastern Cape as well, says she has learnt a strong lesson about how everything is not as it seems.
“So, don’t judge a book by its cover, don’t judge a book by its character and push yourself; grab every opportunity because you never know what might come out of it.”
The 25-year-old, who is also an aspiring media personality, tells us that she plans to start a podcast and from there, the sky is the limit.
The duo were evicted alongside Yemi and Olivia, during the double eviction show.
