Time to do your hair can be hard to find if you have a busy life. But if you go for a low-maintenance hairstyle, you can perfect your locks in a matter of minutes, meaning you can hit snooze for a bit longer of a morning!
We run through our favourite low-maintenance looks.
Bob like Ayanda Thabethe
You might think that you need to spend ages blow-drying hair to perfect this look but that’s not the case. If you want a ‘60s style perfectly rounded bob then a blow-dry is necessary, but there are other ways to get the best out of this do. If you’re in a rush, just grab the top section of your hair (including your fringe if you have them) and tie into a ponytail for a half-up, half-down finish. The higher the ponytail, the more cute and quirky this look – wear lower down for a more professional look during the day at the office before switching it up for a night on the town. A graduated bob can also be worn in waves for a stylish look. Simply loosely plait the hair after washing at night, sleep on it and unravel the plaits the next morning for a sexy, beach babe finish.
Long hair like Bonang Matheba
Oh the things you can do with long hair! The options are endless, but one style that will never go out of fashion is a ponytail. Whether you go for slicked down hair into a sleek ponytail or a more undone look into a fluffy ponytail, this look ticks all the boxes. Take a few bobby pins with you to work and it’s also easy to transform into a nighttime look. Simply wrap the ponytail around the hairband and pin into place to form a sexy bun in seconds.
Curls like Amanda du Pont
Curls always look good in long hair too. You can go for the plaited option above for waves, or for tighter curls why not try Sleep-In Rollers? They do exactly what they say on the tin – simply place in hair at nighttime and sleep in, removing in the morning for a curly finish.
Short hair like Linda Mtoba
Cropped dos are much more versatile than you may think. A sparkling hair clip or headscarf can add a quirky touch to the style, while products such as hair wax or gel can add some texture. If you really want to push the boat out with this look, why not try a spray in instant hair colour? These wash out but give an exciting update to a look if you have a special night or occasion to prep for.
