Growing her Fenty empire, which already consists of two successful brands - Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin - the singer and entrepreneur has reportedly registered a new trademark for Fenty Hair.

Although Rihanna and her company are yet to confirm the news, the trademark has been filed to offer products that are for hair preparation, hair colouring, straightening tools, waving stylers, shampoo, hair relaxing products and even hair glitter.

Rihanna will not be the first celebrity to own a haircare brand that caters to the needs of black hair.

Here’s a list of 4 other celebrities who own haircare brands:

1.       Taraji P Henson: TPH by Taraji

Actress Taraji P Henson launched her haircare line after years of struggling with an itchy scalp.

“My scalp would itch like crazy under cornrows and extensions—and Sea Breeze astringent was the only thing that got down in there because the formula was loose,” she told Oprah Mag.

“I know a little bit about hair, and I thought, ‘that’s like putting straight alcohol onto my scalp—it’s going to dry all of the natural oils'. I wanted something that would give me the same feeling—like my scalp just had a Peppermint Patty—without over-drying,” she continued.

Now, her haircare line has 18 products that cater to any type of black hair.

2.       Boity Thulo : Boity Thulo Haircare Range

Media personality Boity Thulo launched her haircare range in 2020 after launching her fragrance: Boity Pink Sapphire. She partnered with Halo Heritage to develop the range of luxury haircare products specially formulated for women with kinky and curly hair types.

“Your hair is your crown. Whether you prefer it all shaved off, wear a weave, opt for a protective style or rock an afro, taking care of your hair with products that are packed with goodness and most importantly made for your specific hair type is something you just cannot afford to compromise on. This range of products is exactly that,” she said in a statement.
