FORD Motor company donates 19 cars to Nelson Mandela Children's Foundation.
The foundation, in partnership with Ford Motor Company, celebrated its 30 years of existence by generously donating a total of 19 vehicles to vulnerable kids.
The donation is to help the Nelson Mandela Foundation to continue its work in preserving the legacy of Nelson Mandela and Henry Ford.
The fleet of cars donated consisted of buses, vans, SUVs and mobile clinics that would assist kids from rural areas who don't have access to reliable transportation.
Neale Hill, president of Ford Motor Company, said they feel honoured to build this partnership, and all donated vehicles will serve a different purpose.
"It's such a privilege for our company Ford to be standing here with this wonderful organisation that is continuing amazing legacies. We want to build a world where everyone can move freely. This is what drives us. Mobility goes beyond vehicles. It's about enabling access, connections and community partnership.
"We are handing over 19 Ford vehicles that we specifically selected and converted. A mobile clinic, workshop, bus and a delivery van, and rangers. These vehicles were made in South Africa by South Africans," said Hill.
According to Hill, the partnership aims to develop kids and eradicate poverty in their communities.

The donations of the new vehicles mean more kids can now attend school on time and go on school trips and programmes without worrying about transport.
Speaking to Daily Sun, chairman of the board of trustees at the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, Mpho Makwana, said: "We want to serve children in the same spirit Nelson Mandela and Henry Ford had. We will be looking at further opportunities we can find to support more children because we have a global purpose. That's why our foundation has partnered with a company that wants to do its best."
Their goal is to add value and uplift the kids at the organisation.
The CEO of Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, Dr Linda Nkomo-Ncube, said: "Our work is of integrity, excellence and inclusivity. We say if children are not ok then we cannot all be ok. This strategic partnership is starting at an exciting point in our lives as the foundation. We are celebrating 30 years of existence and honouring the giants that came before us.
"We will make sure every child reaches their dreams, and we'll change how society treats its children. We want them free from harm, thriving and reaching their full potential."
