THE long arm of the law has finally pounced on the young driver behind the horror crash that left Mzansi in tears.
Gauteng police confirmed that the 22-year-old scholar transport driver was arrested on Tuesday, 20 January, immediately after being discharged from the hospital.
The accident happened in Vanderbijlpark, Vaal, on Monday morning, 19 January when a taxi carrying school kids collided with a truck.
Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said the young driver is expected to appear before the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates Court within 48 hours.

He is facing 12 counts of culpable homicide, as well as charges of reckless and negligent driving.
On Monday, police spent the day moving between hospitals and the mortuary to count the cost of the crash.
Twelve pupils died on the spot, while five others were rushed to hospital.
The Gauteng Department of Education said one pupil has since been discharged, while three are still fighting for their lives.
In a heartbreaking twist, the department revealed that one of the little bodies at the mortuary still hasn't been identified.
Cops are now busy taking statements from witnesses to piece together exactly how the young driver managed to lose so many lives in a single moment.
