The matter appeared before the Randburg Magistrates Court on Friday, 6 November, where it was confirmed that it would be heard in the Alexandra Regional Court on 1 December.

The court heard that the matter had originally been registered in Sandton and that cases from the area are dealt with at the Alexandra court.

The prosecutor reportedly could not explain why the matter was being transferred.

Speaking after the proceedings, Nare said she was unhappy with the move as she had hoped the case would remain in Randburg, where the prosecutor was expected to handle it.

“I don’t know who’s going to be dealing with it. I don’t know anyone from there,” she said.

Nare said she’d allow the court process to take its course as she remained focused on getting justice.

“I’m not happy with it moving to Alexandra, but we’ll see. Right now, I’ll just let the court do what it needs to do for my justice to be served,” she said.

She added that she has been dealing with people making fun of the case and spreading allegations about it.

The case has attracted attention following allegations of assault against Zuko by Nare, with the influencer seeking justice through the courts.

During the previous appearance on 30 October, Zuko’s defence lawyer opposed the state’s request for a postponement, arguing that his client’s constitutional right to a speedy trial was being prejudiced by delays.

Magistrate Magolego also expressed concern about the state’s handling of the matter, particularly the introduction of additional charges under the Domestic Violence Act, which had not been disclosed during pre-trial proceedings.

The case will now continue in the Alexandra Regional Court on 1 December.
