RADIO and TV broadcaster, Tony Ndoro, has returned behind the microphone after 15 years.
The media personality who has been on 5FM, Radio Bop, 947 and Kaya959, has joined Hot 102.7FM.
Tony has been hosting the Sunday Lunch with Tony Ndoro show for the past two weeks on Sunday afternoons, and he opened up to Daily Sun about getting back on radio.
"I bumped into Simon Parkinson who's also at the station a while ago and we started chatting. I've known him for a while, and he knows my journey. We started chatting about possibly going back to radio because it had been such a long, long time. I felt maybe let me give it one more chance," he said.
However, things have changed since Tony was last on radio and those changes had him a bit confused, but he's finding his feet.

"Being back was weird. Back in the day, you had a bit of freedom in terms of what you could do. But now it's very formal. Which is a good thing because there are no complications. But you kind of have to learn to work within those parameters, so it's different. And the fact that everything is within a click of a button, I'm still learning though,"

He said he connected with Hot 102.7 because of the music.
"I think it's the sound of the station. I understand their music. I stopped at 5FM because I couldn't understand the music anymore. I remember that day I was like ‘nope, I think I'm too old now.' So the music and the vibes are the reason I decided to join the station, plus I know some people at the station," he said.
Tony has been a broadcaster for almost 30 years now and his biggest lesson has been to have fun.
"The biggest thing I've learnt is to have fun. I've been very blessed to be able to do something I love and have fun. I've also learnt that if it's not fun anymore, don't do it anymore. People must enjoy what they do, they'll probably do their best job when they have fun," he said.
When speaking about what people can expect from the show, he said: "The show has got some old school vibes, it's a bit more laid back and we're going to start pushing more interaction with the listeners. Right now, I'm just trying to get used to the computer system because it's been long."
